Lemonade ?

Fresh Lemonade (Quick Version)
If you wanna impress someone with Fresh lemonade in a matter of a minute then this is the way, I know it’s not the best or traditional and perfect way, but instead of making a drink with fresh Lemon juice, dash Sugar Syrup topped with soda water like most bars do if you ask for a Fresh Lemonade or even just lemonade you will most likely just get a Sprite or 7up, try this and I guarantee this will impress, and it works with Lime as well (see recipes below). This is using Distilled water so no gas in the water is quite appealing to the majority of guests also.

Ingredients1 whole Lemon Chopped (chop off the ends and discard)
1 oz Sugar Syrup
7 oz Chilled Distilled Bottled Water

Method
Get an ice filled glass ready about 12 oz and then blend all the ingredients in a blender fast for maximum 3 seconds, if you blend to much the drink will become too bitter. Then double strain in to the ice filled glass and garnish with a Lemon wheel

VariationsSubstitute the Lemon for a whole lime and it’s a Fresh Limeade,

Drink SpecsThe Lemon or Lime must be fresh and cleaned and use seedless if you can that means checking it, you must look for smooth skin, no mold, and a deep yellow colour is best, but remember just buy one and ask the market owner to cut it open and taste it before you buy more also store the lemons in the fridge before hand. The Sugar Syrup should be made fresh that day and if necessary can keep it in the fridge. Your water is best a distilled version but you can use any bottled water and if you wish to use a mineral one that’s fine, make sure any water you use is one you know or have been recommended and not carbonated.

Lemonade/ Lemon Soda

If three of you ask for Vodka mixed with Lemonade you could get three different drinks, Example: ask for these in the same bar “Vodka / 7up, Vodka / Sprite or Vodka / Lemonade. What they going to get, most probably the same drink, and definitely not with freshly made lemonade, if you did give them fresh lemonade, they would probably spit it out and ask you what’s that. Now that’s probably Europe, USA is very different, Lemonade in USA means Distilled water mixed with Sugar and Lemon juice called Fresh lemonade. This paragraph however is about Lemonade (carbonated) as a mixer. Fresh Lemonade as it was known originally was first mixed somewhere (maybe the Mediterranean area) a long time ago and is beautiful when made fresh, but the carbonated version we use as a mixer was sold in the first soda fountains

Famous Drink MixCould be the Pimms Cup, but the drinks date back a long way and Carbonated Lemonade was still quite rare, but I like to think the most famous Cocktail with Carbonated Lemonade is the Shirley Temple which is also sometimes made with Ginger Ale

Recommended Spirits to mix with Carbonated LemonadeVodka goes the best and quite popular in the 80’s & 90’s was with Malibu or any other fruit liqueur

Best Drink MixMay two Favourite and best drinks I think that work best are the Lynchburg lemonade and Snowball, I don’t drink much of them now but they do work really well with Lemonade
